Messaging & Positioning

A visitor decides within a few seconds whether your website is relevant to them. If it isn't immediately clear what you do, who you help, and why you're the right choice — most will leave without ever making contact.

What we look at

  • → Clarity of offer — is it immediately obvious what you do, who it's for, and what someone gets by working with you?
  • → Value communication — are you explaining your value in terms that mean something to your customers, rather than just listing what you do?
  • → Confusion and hesitation — is there anything on the page that might give a potential customer pause, create doubt, or send mixed signals?
  • → Tone and consistency — does the language match the audience you're trying to reach, and is it consistent across the site?
  • → Differentiation — is there anything that sets you apart from alternatives, or does the site read the same as every competitor?

Why messaging matters more than design

Many websites look professional but fail to communicate. A well-designed page with unclear messaging still loses customers. The words — and the order you present them — are what turn a visitor into an enquiry.

This section of the audit looks at your site the way a new visitor would: with no prior knowledge of your business, no patience for vague language, and a short amount of time to decide whether to stay or go.

The goal is to find where the messaging lets the design down — and tell you exactly what to change.

Clear messaging isn't about clever copy. It's about saying the right thing, to the right person, at the right moment — without making them work to understand it.

Need help making the changes?

If the messaging review identifies areas to improve and you'd like help rewriting or restructuring the content, we can assist with that as part of a follow-on engagement. Just mention it when you get in touch.
